How to Pay SSS (Voluntary Contribution) through SM Business Center

It has been a month since I left my day job and along with this huge shift in my life comes tons of voluntary contributions I have to do. Since I started working, all my government contributions were taken care of by the company's benefits team and I have to do these moving forward as a voluntary employee. I will start a new series called the Freelance Journey to cover everything I had to do manually as I transition as a freelance agent.

Here are the steps I did:

1. Check the last month my previous company paid for. I checked first if my previous company already submitted my September 2022 contributions and with the help of Miss Love, she confirmed that the company only paid for the month of August 2022.

2. Check how much my contribution was. You can check how much your contributions are from your SSS profile.

Path > Inquiry > Contributions and upon checking my monthly contribution I am paying Php3250 and I continue the same payments.

3. Generate PRN (Payment Reference Number) this is required for contributions. This is where you will get your PRN code for payment.

You will see something like this just click on Generate PRN.
Path: Payment Reference Number (PRN) - Contributions > Generate PRN

4. Fill out contribution details: amount and for what month the contributions are.

Membership Type: Voluntary or OFW

You will see a notification that your Membership Type will be changed to Voluntary.

Fill out the Applicable Period (From and To) - you can opt to pay annually, quarterly heck even monthly.

5. Print out a Statement of Account (SOA) if you plan to pay manually through any Business Centers at malls like SM or Robinsons. A printed copy is required to pay as they will print the confirmation codes and details on your printed copy.

This is what your SOA will look like.

6. Pay at your preferred Business Center. You may ask the guards where it's at, sometimes Customer Service is at the Ladies or Men's section.

7. Pay in cash and keep your receipt/printed form. Done in less than 10 minutes.

8. Contributions are posted within the day. I checked my SSS portal and saw it has been posted!
Path > Inquiry > Contributions

NOTE: SM will start to collect PHP15 for all SSS transactions come October 2022.
