Pork Steak with Buttered Veggies

I love simple dishes. I appreciate something cooked perfectly rather than smothered with sauce. Simplicity is always my preference. I am sharing to you today my tried and tested Pork Steak with buttered veggies. I guess the short teaser wasn't that great to tease your senses. No worries and no hard feelings. :)

Ingredients:
  • Pork Steak
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Corn
  • Carrots
  • Olive Oil
  • Butter
What you need to do:

  • Dry the meat first with paper towels. Then apply salt and pepper on each side. Tip: I love cracklings and I make it a point to spread more salt on the pork skin compared to the lean meat.

  • On a heated pan with oil start cooking the meat in medium high.

  • Turn the meat every minute until it starts to turn golden brown. I love my steak cooked medium. Meat cooking time varies to the thickness and your preference. I love cooking my steak medium well. I believe this one took me about 15 minutes and a little extra for the crackling to cook.

  • Allow the meat to rest and place on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
  • On a separate pan/pot, boil frozen carrots and corn for 8 minutes on medium high fire. Once cooked, drain and saute on the pan with oil or a on fresh pan heated with a bit of butter. Cook until covered in buttery goodness. Tip: I bought fresh carrots and corn. Sliced them to small cubes and froze them in the fridge. This is far better than the ones in the market. Those get soggy faster.

  • Serve on your best plate and oogle at your masterpiece.

Bon appetite!

Could be eaten with rice or mashed potato. See how easy it is? Try it out and let me know how it tasted. :)
