Typhoons are not really that new to us anymore. We have had our own share of typhoon stories to last us the next lifetime. The recent typhoon, that which was Yolanda will forever scar us the most. Yes, I could say that it has created a wound so deep that once it heals will eternally be engraved in our soul.
I guess by now you have seen how tragic photos of the aftermath. Countless people are still missing, how many people are hungry, families who haven't talked for days, some just exhausted and devastated with loss. Only a few from the thousands have been found. It's heartbreaking really. Donations not reaching the victims and roads not safe for travel.
Here's a photo of paper messages from our fellow Filipinos reaching out to their relatives as communication is still yet to be fixed. Photo is from GMA Network's online write-up with the headline: 'Buhi kami tanan': Yolanda survivors send messages to loved ones posted last November 10th.

I admire still how we get back on our feet and find reasons to smile. Hope never fades. Like how resilient the bamboo is, no strong wind can ever break us. At this moment, what we can do is pray and spare a few moment of your time by reaching out. Let's do our part, let's help out.

“Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”
Hope is in our hands. Let's do our share.
