BonChon Chicken

After that unfortunate incident, I finally decided to visit BonChon Chicken at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu. It was a slow night when we arrived and I was abit excited since this would be my first time.

I have read from a few blogs how crispy and flavorful their chicken and I was expecting the same review as well. We queued along with other early dinner folks. I decided to get the Bulgogi Rice since I have a penchant for beef. My companion went for the Thigh Rice Box meal.

They even had their own hand sanitizer just by the counter. :)

We settled for a spot and since it was early dinner, there were quite a lot of space to settle in. We decided to sit near the exit since we'd only be eating and dashing out.

The order came by with no warning. The plate came in with the thigh and rice wrapped in their own paper lining with the company's logo. The chicken smelled wonderful, I hope it tastes even better.

My Bulgogi Rice meal came next, fresh green onions topped the succulent beef slices with caramelized onions. I can't wait to dig in. After taking a few photographs and making sure I have enough pics to last me the next apocalypse, we headed to the taste test.

My thoughts:
  • Soy Chicken Thigh - The meat was wonderfully cooked, the skin was crispy and the taste was just alright. I didn't really get to appreciate the taste overall. I had better tasting chicken than this one.
  • Bulgogi Rice - The meat was as stated, succulent and the portions was just right. I enjoyed this and the meal reminded me of the Beef Misoni I had from Tokyo Joe's which I am uncertain is a good or bad thing on BonChon's part. Other than the familiar tasting meal, I liked it. :)

The highlight of the night was the Ko-Yo. Ko-Yo is their version of frozen yogurt, we selected the Blueberry variant. I would say that this saved the whole experience. I think I was not too hungry enough to appreciate the whole buzz.

My thoughts on the Ko-Yo?
  • Sweet and just the right amount of sourness. The graham grains was an ingenious surprise. We finished the whole cup in no time. It was that good. This would be enough of a reason to come by again and visit.

Overall, it was not that bad. I think I need to visit again and make sure that I will give my best judgment.
