It had wanted to visit a Thai-inspired place that way I can call myself a well-rounded foodie. After what seemed like a prolonged plan, eventually we landed in Thailand. :D
The place was haute-Thai if there is such a word. Thailand has been shaped by many influences, including Indian, Burmese, Lao, Cambodian and even Chinese. You would expect their food to have a tad bit of Chinese ancestry or have Indian spices. This makes Thailand cuisine a great treat as there is something for everyone.
Interiors were mainly made of wood and decors that were gold plated and you can see a few pieces of elephants, buddha and even the cutlery looked rather posh. It was a bit heavy in case you ask.
The place was well-lit and was dimmed to have an ambient feel to it. We then decided to check the menu and find which dish that we fancy.
We opted for the Thai Crispy Pata and the Bagoong Fried Rice. For the drinks, we had Thai Milk Tea and Vanilla Smoothie. The Milk was really good, it was sweet and not to empowering. As for the Smoothie, that one was a total winner. It was really smooth and creamy and worth a try.
The Bagoong Fried Rice was a complete meal on its own. It had eggs, a few shrimps, slices of green mango and of course the rice which was salty and sweet because of the bagoong and it had beef as well for the non-seafood lovers.
It was a good mix of all things great. Best paired with their crispy pata.
Hello there lover. Look at the size of that!! This was the highlight of our meal. Crunchy, salty pork skin and succulent and tender lean meat. TO DIE FOR! What I loved about the dish was they had a pair of sauce that came with the order: one was a soy-based sauce while the other is somewhat like a sweet and sour sauce. I liked the sweet and sour sauce and so did my friend. After what seemed like a very fulfilling meal, we still had enough rice and pata for take out! That was how big the serving is.
If I can remember correctly, I think we paid around Php700 for the whole dinner. It was worth every penny and we even have leftovers to reheat for some midnight snack! ;)
