How to Open BPI #SaveUP Savings Account

My debit card has expired and I needed an extra card for my mom to use. I decided to create the #SaveUp from BPI and it was fairly easy to use (heck, even my mom could have completed this on her own!).

Here are the easy steps to get your own:

1. Download the BPI Mobile app - click here for Android and iOS.

2. Once downloaded, let's create your account by clicking Open an account now.
3. On the next screen it will ask you what you plan to set up select Create a bank account.
4. You will be given a quick snapshot of how easy it will be to create a bank account and what IDs to use and then click Continue.
5. Answer your nationality and accept the Terms and Conditions.
6.  Input your current phone number and email address on the fields provided for verification. Once done, a One-Time Pin will be sent to your number and will automatically be verified on the app.

7. Select or unselect the BPI ePay Mastercard -I opted out of it as I have my Paypal for that.
8. Fill out basic information as accurately as you can and on the next page, you will be asked to upload any government ID.
9. You will be asked to upload your government-issued ID. Read some of the reminders on the screen.
10. Follow the instructions on how to scan a valid government ID- first the front of the ID and next will be the backside of the ID.
11. Next step is taking a selfie - the app will scan your face.
12. We are almost done, the next step is filling out additional information like - personal and work details. When completed, you will be asked to validate and review your details. Best to check carefully to avoid issues in the future.

13. Last step is creating your online banking account and your savings account will finally be created. Note: for the username please include one number. Example: BPIusername0
14. Final step is verifying your device, you will get a text message from BPI and ensure to follow the instructions to complete your setup.
15. You have successfully created your own #SaveUP account. You can start using this for your online payments and all other banking needs.
