Red Lizard Taqueria

I love Mexican Food and you may have noticed that I have had my share of satisfying visits from different places at nearby taquerias here in Dasmariñas. I visited Taco Shack Asian Taqueria in Tagaytay and Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina at Ayala Serin in search for the best one.

I checked out Zomato for the latest and newest food places to try out a few days before I left for Cebu. Each year, I pay my dad a visit in Butuan and head to Cebu after for a quick vacay. I discovered Red Lizard Taqueria which was not hard to find considering they had branches at SM City Cebu and Ayala Center.
Hopped on a cab and headed out to IT Park in Lahug to do a little bit of walking. I used to work around these parts and it's a wonderful surprise to see most of what used to be a patch of green field now has condominiums and shops. I found Red Lizard right next to Abaca Baking Company. Both establishments are from the Abaca Group of Companies like how they also own Phat Pho and Maya to name a  few.

After much deliberation, I got the Spicy Chorizo for Texas Tacos which is served for 2 at Php139. Opted to get their Mojitos by the pitcher for Php299. Pitcher Mojitos were served with Masa Chips. And to top it off got a side of Chunky Salsa Roja at medium size Php99.
What makes a good establishment? Great interiors and amazing taste in music. The space offers long tables to accommodate big groups and they have alfresco dining too for folks who want to smoke outside. They serve other drinks too and other Mexican flair - will definitely try the others when I visit again.
Red Lizard Taqueria features local artists by sharing the spotlight for Acoustic nights. They have a good following and during my visit, locals and foreigners alike come in to dine.
The Masa Chips were homemade and boy did those taste good. Seasoned well and minus the usual pre-packed taste from the grocery store kind. It was perfect with the Salsa Roja which I am a sucker for! I just couldn't get enough of it.

The Mojito was just the icing on top of the cake - it blended perfectly with the tacos and the chips. It's a cool refresher after a long day at work or when you feel a little thirsty.
Let's talk about how bomb the Chorizo Tacos were! Spicy, chunky chorizo mixed with pickled veggies and topped with a good amount of salsa. It was just really good. I am not sure if the Chorizo was homemade but it sure tasted great. A must try when you get to visit.
The glutton in me said to order the Carnitas Taco before leaving, shamelessly I did. The food remained consistent - great flavors and texture. This is their best seller but in all honesty, I would choose the Chorizo over this.

They had so much in their menu that I did not have enough time and money to try them all out. I will certainly come back and try the others.
