Roasted Pork Ham

I love pork and just like Anthony Bourdain, if pigs squeal at the sight of me then they should. They are one of the most versatile meat in the market. Tired of roasting chicken, we tried to get some pork this time.

This is our take on Roasted Pork Ham, perfect for feasts or any special occasion.

Ingredients:
  • pork ham
  • dijon mustard
  • salt
  • pepper
  • onion
  • garlic
What you need to do:
  • Score the pig's skin in a crisscross manner making sure that it does not cut through the lean meat. Salt and pepper to taste, press the seasoning into the grooves making sure it's seasoned well.

  • Heat a pan and drizzle olive oil or any vegetable based oil to the pan (canola oil works just fine). Once pan is heated, fat side down cook until crispy.

  • Turn over to cook the lean meat.

  • Saute garlic and onion.

  • Use the onion and garlic as a bed for the pork. Like what you see on the photo.

  • Add a cup of water.

  • Spread dijon mustard over the crispy pork skin. Simmer to boil.

  • Once water has simmered, place the pan on the oven.

  • Bake over 425 degree Fahrenheit for 1 hour. Once alarm turns off, lower temperature to 350 degree Fahrenheit and bake for an additional 30 minutes.

  • Cool over serving plate. Pour the remaining contents to on a blender. This serves as your gravy/sauce.
  • Season gravy/sauce to taste.
  • Serve on a plate with the gravy/sauce.

Here you go. Me and my fail attempt at presenting the dish. I hope I get A for effort. The pork was succulent, tender and packed with flavor. You can use other spices for added flavor. Let me know what you have come up straight from your kitchen! :)
