Bigby's Cafe & Restaurant

Ensogo did save me on my birthday! I saved Php800 worth of food and drinks and boy was I ever grateful! I was low on the moolah and since it was almost my birthday I decided to use the voucher I purchased last December. I know they would totally come in handy. I went to Bigby's Ayala Branch to celebrate my 25 years of existence along with my cousin and a few friends.

Bigby's Cafe and Restaurant started keeping tummy's happy since December 8, 1998 in Cagayan de Oro City. I have no idea why I didn't know this ever existed when I frequently go to CDO. Oh well, moving forward to the present time, they have 9 branches within Visayas and Mindanao. They have a branch at the following:  Ayala Center Cebu, SM City Cebu, SM City CDO, Limketkai Center in CDO, Gaisano City Mall in Bacolod and the latest addition is the one in the flashy Abreeza Mall in Davao.

I had been here a few times already and the Rack-A-Bye Baby has always been a favorite. This time we wanted to have a bigger serving since I am not alone in this journey to gastronomic pleasures. We decided to get our drinks first. I love anything sour so I always choose lemonade, my cousin went for the Iced Tea and the other opted for the Vanilla Ice.

For appetizer we went for the Cheese Quesadilla. Chewy gooey goodness with fresh greens and a concoction of things oh so good. We went for it like hyenas. We waited for a table to clear for a few minutes and yes saying we were hungry was an understatement. This was really good, reminded me of the quesadilla we had at Tara's Cafe in IT Park which sadly closed.

The Belly Buster  at Php595
The moment of truth came with this platter of heavy protein! The ultimate combo of our famous barbecued babyback ribs, drilled rodeo chops and smoky pork belly. Served in one heaping platter with garlic rice, buttered vegetables and crispy onion rings. They even have two types of sauce: gravy and the suprisingly good barbeque sauce.

The rice was enough for four hungry girls and the plate was cleaned and only remnants of what once was pork belly and chops linger.

A good friend of mine who came in late decided to go for the Rosemary Chicken, he sort of didn't like it that much. He claims the chicken seemed a little dry for his taste. He sighed and sort of regretted being late.

The dinner was great and the company of the people who care for me made it more worthwhile. I forgot how much the whole dinner costs all I know it reached around a thousand however since I get Php800 I think I only paid around a few amounts for the deficit. Not too bad for a good night out! To more money saving meals and dining out!

  3. Bigby's is one of my favorite in Cagayan de Oro. I love their wide-ranged menu and of course the large portions. The price is very reasonable. Although I notice that the portions are a bit smaller compare like 5-6 years ago? Well anyways their food is still very good!
